"The first day we had to try with Josh we received the news of the death of our dear friend, Brendan Mullen. In his honor we launched into a improvised jam that became Brendan’s Death Song, one of the tracks on I’m With You. We can say without fear of contradiction that I’m With You was born that day, with the arrival of Josh and the first song composed. The magic between us was instantly struck, there was no need to say more, we had the guitarist suitable for us, what was needed for RHCP to start playing with conviction. Part of the credit for this album is just contagious enthusiasm for Josh in addition to his talent." - FleaOnstage Interview December 2011

New CNN Interview with Flea - A Red Hot Chili Pepper turns 50"Turning 50 is a little bit of a taking stock moment. I feel probably a little dumber. I don’t think I’m as sharp as I was when I was younger, but I’m definitely wiser, and less likely to make gigantic blunders of an intellectual, spiritual, emotional or physical type." Continue…

"Since we had some time off, we went in the studio and recorded some new stuff. It went really well… . Right now is a really great time for us. We’re very forward-looking, in terms of our creativity and our desire and passion for making new sounds and new records and thinking of new ideas and breaking molds and doing things that we’ve never done before.” - FleaNewly Released Interview - Published May 31st 2012

New interview with Flea in Rolling Stone Magazine February 2012.Flea talks about the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, collecting rare books and three decades of funk. I never would’ve played bass if not for Hillel. I was a jazz trumpet player, and he said, “Dude! You should learn how to play bass and be in my band. “Two weeks later, we were onstage at the Troubadour. Anthony Kiedis, Hillel Slovak and I raised each other, and they schooled me on Zeppelin and Hendrix. Hillel really loved rock & roll. Anthony Kiedis talks to RollingStone Magazine about RHCP’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2012! Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis got the news while his band was touring Europe. "The most emotional part for me was thinking about [late Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist] Hillel Slovak … It’s really kind of his induction that I’m the most excited about. He’s a beautiful person that picked up a guitar in the 1970s and didn’t make it out of the 1980s, and he is getting honored for his beauty … It really fills my heart with the reality of how much we love doing what we  do, and how much Flea and I love each other. We have stuck together through thick and thin and we want to keep on trucking and continuing to do what it is we do."

“One day we were out at some weird water park in the valley and we’d smoked a joint and couldn’t get home. We saw this guy driving down the street who was in our geometry class at school and he pulled over. We didn’t know it but he gave us a ride in his Datsun B210 and we hit it off. He played guitar and had a band and he was the one who told me to play bass. That was Hillel Slovak – our original guitarist.” - FleaThe Daily Record Interview - Nov 11th, 2011. Anthony Kiedis and Flea talk to The Daily Record about the secrets of the Red Hot Chili Peppers longevity. Published November 11th, 2011.

“It’s still one night only – that’s what it feels like. That’s why it happened. We never thought about being a rock and roll band. We only wanted to play one night, that’s how we keep it alive. We all have a different type of intelligence and we want to honour the things that put us where we are and that keep us there.” - Anthony Kiedis
